CPUX-F: Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience – Foundation Level
3 days training including certification test
This is a 3 days intensive training with exercises in preparation of CPUX-F certification test including certification test directly following the seminar. Although we focus on preparing you for the CPUX-F certification, there is no guarantee that you will pass the test. The test is independently available and can be repeated any time for test fees only.
Understanding the foundational concepts will enable you to successfully navigate through the different phases of a design process and choose the right methods in the right moment to successfully drive product design.
Our goal is not only to build tactical skills for team work, but the general competence to successfully lead a design process. We train conceptual understanding by teaching not only practical exercises but also core concepts and terms which are essential for a human-centered design process and prepare you for the certification as a UX Professional Foundation Level.
You will learn key concepts and methods of the Human-Centered Design Process (HCD) which is internationally considered a reference for the design of interactive systems. During the course, we will relate this reference process to popular design frameworks such as Design Thinking, Lean/Agile UX, Contextual Design, and Personas to help you understanding the common principles but also the differences.
This training is recommended to everyone who is interested in UX or works with UX professional in a project team.
We support and strengthen you in your role:
As a Professional Designer: Refresh your knowlegde about Human-centered Design to have a reference for promoting an end-to-end design process and communicating consistently with your stakeholders
As a Product Manager: Learn the fundamentals of a Human-centered Design process to successfully engage and collaborate with UX professionals and integrate UX deliverables into the overall product engineering life cycle
As a Product Owner: Learn to improve the usability and user experience of your product by establishing an integrated design process that establishes a common understanding about user needs and requirements.
As a Business Analyst: Learn how to align input from all stakeholders and document requirements in an integrated way to inform your design solution.
As a Business Owner: Reflect the maturity of your organization with respect to Human-centered Design and understand how to implement the right mindset, infrastructure, and project resources.
What you will learn
The seminar aims to improve team communication by establishing a common terminology and reference process. By teaching how to derive explicit user requirements and how to use them throughout the entire software engineering lifecycle, we are enabling human-centered design as an integral part of the overall requirements engineering and product definition process.
The content is based on the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB) and will provide an introduction to usability and UX in the areas of:
|The human-centered design Process||Usability maturity, UX in agile projects|
|Human-centered quality of interactive systems||Usability, user experience, accessibility|
|Understanding and describing the context of use||User groups, goals, tasks, resources, and environments|
|Procedures for analyzing context of use||Contextual interview, observations, focus groups|
|Synthesizing and communicating findings||Context of use description, user group profiles, personas, journey maps, jobs-to-be-done|
|Specifying requirements||Use needs, user requirements, other stakeholder requirements|
|Design principles and guidelines||Dialogue principles, heuristics, guidelines, design patterns, design systems|
|Describing design solutions||To-be journey maps and task models, storyboards, information architecture, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, use scenarios, use cases|
|Validating design solutions||Usability test, heuristic evaluation, user surveys|
|Scoping releases||Human-centered design objectives, user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements management across releases|
